[ Martial ]

Occupation:

Unemployed

Weapon(s):

N/A

Powers/Abilities:

Enhanced Strength: As it says, Mandy's strength has been enhanced to the point of a power. Her muscles aren't for show, after all, so it comes as no surprise that this lady can bench press something fierce! She can bench press around half a ton, on land alone! With water, her strength seems almost limitless - yet this isn't the case, as the water just makes things a little lighter thanks to buoyancy. Just a word of advice, though; don't try fighting her in a pool! Chances are, you'll get your ass whoop'd.

Invisibility: Now, this may come as a surprise, but it's not as far fetched as some may think. Sharks of all types have a special ability, and that is being capable of producing a spontaneous and long-lasting luminescence. What does this mean? Well, basically, Mandy can make the optical illusion that she's disappeared in the water. This extends to her clothes, and means she can be quite quickly to catch without a good sense of smell or tracking. However, this ability doesn't really work on land or murky water, as it makes her glow instead. This would make her stand out - which is cool for a raving party, but not so much when trying to stay out of sight.

Venom:

Venom Resistance:

Weaknesses:

- Heat is a big weakness for her. Putting her in a desert-like environment risks her getting dehydrated easily. She also can't stand cold weather, as it makes it more difficult for her to swim, and just slows her down.

- Electricity is another big one, as she keeps her body wet almost all the time. Shocking her is the best bet to keep her down if you want a quick way to get away from her - or to piss her off. This also shorts out her ability to glow/turn invisible for a short period of time.

- Injuries towards her gills can be considered deadly, especially because they're exposed and easy to get to. They're great for breathing underwater, but not so much for withstanding attack. The gills themselves are sensitive, and a large enough wound there can put her at risk of bleeding to death without medical attention.

- While she can breath on land, it's greatly hindered compared to when she's in the water. This means that physical activities such as running and heavy lifting are made to be much more difficult.

- Sharks go into a comatosed state when flipped onto their backs. This applies to Mandy as well, seeing how she's mostly part shark. When flipped over, be it land or water, it takes Mandy about fifteen minutes to recover from it.

Alignment:

Chaotic Neutral

[ Personal ]

Sexual Orientation:

Uncertain [ Likely bi/pansexual. ]

Personality:

[ Aggressive | Short-tempered | Egotistical | Asshole | Alexithymic | Stubborn ]

To be frank, Mandy is just an all around aggressive person. She acts before she thinks, which can make usual situations unnecessarily violent. She doesn't like talking out issues, and will often snap at those who dare go near what she considers her water. Threats, profanity, and insults leave her lips more often than not, so befriending this shark is no easy task. Not that you'd really want her to be your friend in the first place, seeing how she has such a short fuse that even the smallest thing can set her off into a rage. She's just an angry child, so talking to her requires a lot of caution, especially if you want her to do something. This shark isn't without an ego though. She's a major show off to those she allows to be around her, and why wouldn't she be? She's confident in her abilities, whether it's fighting or swimming. She gladly will accept any challenge, and sometimes finds it difficult to back down, even if it would be better if she does. She loves compliments, and honestly, it's the best way to get on her good side. She can be a sore loser, though. Mandy likes to win, and when she loses? She will never admit to it. You could beat her ten times and she'd still say it's some kind of fluke. (Not that she'd let that happen, seeing how once you beat her, she tries to make sure she doesn't lose again.) Yet even in her soreness, she might actually gain some kind of respect for someone who can manage such a 'feat'.

History:

Mandy was born in an Itex base, located somewhere on the east coast. The original purpose of her creation unclear. Although she was probably going to be another 'mutant solider' attempt like so many others. Hence why her strength was enhanced in the first place. However, it seemed the scientists figured out a better purpose for the girl, one involving attracting tourists. She could pose as a 'sea monster', perhaps to the point to where her sightings would be as famous as the Lochness monster's. They needed to train her first though, to make sure that if they were to let her go that she would listen rather than swim away.

Mandy was a reluctant child, often trying to cause trouble for the very people who created her. She could refuse to listen and tried biting to get them to stop. She ended up learning this behavior a little after seeing some of the older, more defiant mutants react to the scientists. So she mimics them, going against authority for no reason other than seeing the 'big kids' do it. Soon, though, she was shocked into submission. It seemed that they would need to tone down her aggressiveness. She needed to listen and be a good little girl.

They decided that a better approach at getting her to take commands rather than act out was to move her away from the other mutants. Perhaps even have her work with 'nicer' people so she could soften up. Eventually they settled on transferring her to a more 'aquatic friendly' location. That being a small island somewhere not too far from Australia.

The transfer is a success, and Mandy is quickly brought into her new 'home'. The scientists there welcomed her with open arms, acting a little kinder than her previous handlers. This didn't stop her from being caged or chained, but it was a nice change of pace. There didn't seem to be a lot of other mutants, if there were any they were aquatic just like her. They seemed a lot more quiet, too.

Soon Mandy winded down, becoming happier with her new surroundings. The training began sometime after, mainly involving teaching her basic skills. She was taught reading and writing for better communication, seeing how Mandy managed to be quiet herself most the time. She was also taught that she should always listen to given orders and that she's locked up for the benefit of herself. The last part she didn't really buy, seeing how it was so uncomfortable. She didn't question it, though. She just followed along, learning more and more things. She even got to learn a good bit about marine life. She eventually figured that she could substitute a normal word with the name of a fish or something else! This got her talking a little more, replacing 'boring' words with fun little fish puns.

As the years go by, Mandy grew more curious about her surroundings and just what was beyond those walls. She just had to get out, see just what she was being kept from! She didn't know how to leave, though. She's seen escape attempts before, yet they never really ended well. Not with the erasers keeping tabs on everyone and everything. Around the time the thoughts of escape developed in her mind, a new ability began to develop. Invisibility. At first she didn't know she could do this, or even control it. Yet thanks to her tank, along with confused mummers of other mutants, she figured it out. At least, she got a basic grasp that she could make it seem like she was gone. She soon got to work on this little trick, trying not to do it around the white coats. She needed it to be a surprise if they didn't know already.

One day she tests it out, changing her luminance to match the light hitting the tank. A white coat comes by, confused as to how she 'got out'. They ended up opening the tank, not having the usual guard of erasers by their side to help keep Mandy in line. The girl shot out of the tank, body becoming visible the minute she leaves the water. Now, she didn't know it didn't work on land, yet she didn't care. She booked it, trying to head off for the exit. The back up called in for her came in too late. For once she got out of the building, she quickly headed off for the water. Her movements were slowed, though. She couldn't handle running around, not for long. So she needed to get to somewhere to where she could swim away. She was in luck, the base close enough to a beach to where she could just dive into salty waters.

She made it, without a moment to spare. The erasers tried going after her, yet they couldn't match her speed now that she was in her turf. So they end up retreating back to the base, not bothering to go after her. They hoped that Mandy would end up drying out or get pouched by fishers. Yet the girl was lucky, able to avoid fishers and go off into a random direction. That direction leading her right to Australia, where Maximum Academy resides...

After less than a few months of being there, Mandy was recaptured. They decided to mess with her DNA, replacing the blue shark with tiger shark, the bala shark with salmon, and finally, the goat with stonefish DNA. Why it was done was a little of a mystery, but it was probably because they wanted to try out something similar to an underwater soilder. However, they didn't get to training or doing much of anything with her, seeing how she managed to bust out yet again. It wasn't easy, but after a lot of scheming, she went managed to get through. (Really, she just got out of the tank and ran as fast as she could while the guards were distracted by other misbehaving mutants.)

Once she escaped, she headed straight back to Maximum Academy, figuring it was a better place than any to be.

She was very wrong.

So now she lives where ever the water may take her.

Additional Facts:

- If Mandy had a VA (Voice Actress), she'd sound something like this.

- Her sports bra has an stretchable band/hole on the back for her fin.

- Her fins flare when angry/upset/excited. Good luck finding out which it is!

- She's actually kind of a sucker for cute things, including people. However, she won't hesitate to punch someone, even if they're adorable.

- She can't walk, swim, or jump backwards, this also means she can't stagger back. She has to turn herself around in order to go in that particular direction. She can move her upper body backwards, but otherwise, her legs refuse to move.

- She speaks in fish puns, but only when she feels it's appropriate. Which is pretty much always.

- She has eight gill slits in total, four on each side of her ribs.

- She doesn't like wearing clothes over her gills, especially when they're tight. This causes discomfort and restricts her breathing.

- She cannot lie on her back due to her fin. She also can't sit properly on a chair that has a back to it. Her tail is flexible, but not that flexible.

- Her eyes can glow in the dark.

- She rarely goes to sleep, at most she'll sleep four hours a day. Sometimes she falls asleep while she's swimming. uvu

- She's able to breathe in both salt and fresh water, thanks to her salmon DNA.

- Most of her skin is incredibly smooth, making it easier for her to swim.

- Mandy is actually highly tolerant to pain, meaning she's likely to keep attacking, even after suffering some serious injuries. This also means she's stupid enough to try and do physical labor while injured.
